With the advance of technology, more and more user-friendly cameras are hitting the market. But I realized that newer generations aren’t keen on them at all. I started to observe why people prefer old film cameras so much when there are more other options out there. I even bought one to see why it captivated people so much.

Here are 5 reasons why:
1. Film cameras require more skills
Unlike digital cameras, you can set up everything in auto mode. Film cameras require you to observe the light and distance, and learn each button on the camera. You have to make every decision by yourself, you can’t rely on auto mode, which makes taking pictures an intriguing lesson.

2. They look unique
Most of the digital cameras that are on the market look identical. On the other hand, film cameras have multiple designs, and each brand has a different design. This makes collecting film cameras thrilling.
3. The photos of film cameras capture finer details
The film photos quality is closer to the moment itself, as without the interference of technology, the photos look more authentic. I would say it’s like the tunnel through the time.
4. Always blows your mind
As different films react differently when they touched with a chemical during the development, you will see a distinctive outcome every time you walk into the lab. How amazing!

5. It trains your observation and patience
As mentioned above, you need to consider everything by yourself to take a good photo. This trains you to become more attentive and patient.

Now time to get yourself a film camera and explore this incredible beast!
